The dialogue between cultural management and heritage management in Spain: a vision from the profession

Abstract

Considering the new point of view that has been given to culture as a complex, global and social system the cultural manager profession has come to account. Nevertheless, to define what that job is exactly about is not easy. In this article we expose the capacities and different specialities that this job offers characterizing cultural management as a unitary profession, although it has several branches, because of its capacity to integrate all the elements linked to the cultural fact. The concept of cultural management concept is defined as a science that is able to unify profiles and creates a new family at the same time: that of the person that work more in general terms(up to now it was more specific) in this wide sector that in the end we call culture.
