For a long time, the social significance of Turgenev's work was of high value in China. The flourishing perception of Turgenev-the-thinker in the first half of the 20th century is mainly due to the fact that the themes raised in his works coincided with the social realities and needs of the Chinese intelligentsia at this stage of the historical development of the country. The images of Rudin and Bazarov, to which many controversial studies are devoted, aroused the greatest interest in China. Since the 1980s, Chinese researchers have gradually begun to consider Turgenev's ideas from a more objective and in-depth perspective. During this period, new interpretations of the writer's social, political, philosophical and religious ideas appear. It can be said that at the moment the study of Turgenev's ideas in China is consistently approaching the essence and open to a variety of interpretations, but at the same time, there are some problems.Downloads
