Semantics of Numerals, Numerals and Derivation as a Process in Russian Dialects

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the specificity of dialectal word formation in relation to derivatives motivated by numerals. The derivational potential of numerals is viewed from different aspects: a) derivational proper (production of words with root morphemes one, two, three, five, seven, nine); b) grammatical (denumerals derived from different parts of speech); c) morphemarium and morphemic sequences as an element of the dialectal word structure; d) revealing and systematizing lexical-derivational meanings; e) characterizing the cognitively significant semantics expressed by dialectal words and having no one-word expression in the system of the literary language; f) analyzing various groups of related words, derivational chains and paradigms; g) characterizing derivational and semantic lacunas in the structure of the modelled synthesized fragments of lexical-derivational nests (literary language/dialects).
