Abstract

The studies of Spanish America independence process have greatly been renewed during the last decades, including the development of new research lines aiming to promote the investigation of political language and concepts used at this critical juncture. This research is included in this historiography and intends to restore the different meanings and uses of the patria concept in the discursive practice of absolutists and liberals in Peru.
