Abstract

Studies on the history of the family in the Kingdom of Granada during the Modern Age have come a long way in the last thirty years, with remarkable scientific results that provide a great deal of insight into its behaviour and structure. In view of the possible documentary sources to be used, the difficulties that exist are evident, especially on account of the territorial characteristics of the area and the complex reconstruction of the family model. Despite this, we have a large number of submissions on the subject, which, apart from their quantitative contribution, have produced interesting analyses on the family in the past of Andalusia, offering multiple qualitative aspects, thus completing the process of examining one of the essential pieces of historical construction.
