Abstract

The present paper is devoted to an analysis of two important artistic events which took place in the first decade of the 20'" century in Buenos Aires: the creation of the Sociedad Artística de Aficionados, and the Nexus exhibitions in 1907 and 1908, which were in turn predecessors of the Salón Nacional ( 1911 ). The inauguration of this Salón, together with the lnternational Exhibition of 191 O, will be dealt with in the next issue of Cuadernos de Arte, thus bringing to a close a series of three papers with the general title of "Historical exhibitions in Argentina".
