Abstract

This article analyses the front page of the Theatre of Religions, published in 1612 by Friar Pedro de Valde- rrama. We examine once more some of the most original aspects of the Baroque: life as representation and the image as a prelude, anticipating and illustrating the content of the book, just as with baroque facades, which are real talking retables, informing us of what we are to f ind, once we cross the threshold.
