Abstract

José Marín-Baldo was an architect who worked in almos! ali the aspects of his profession: he designed different types of new buildings; took part in the restoration of historical buildings; planned commemorative monuments; drew up town plans, etc. At the same time he was active as a writer and painter. He published articles on contemporary architecture, and also purely literary texts -poetry, novels and short stories-. His fame as a painter rested on his landscapes. This rich variety makes José Marín-Baldo one of the most interesting figures of 19th century Spanish art.
