Abstract

This dossier has been made with the images that the artist Concha Romeu has collected over time, and shows them to us outside the classes and workshops she teaches. They are only a tiny part of them but enough for us to see a sample of works by very current creators from all over the world who have taken clothes as a tool and support to express themselves, clothes that in many cases have become independent of bodies and taken on a life of their own but that tell us about us.

Author Biography

Concha Romeu

I became interested in the world of art from a very young age and studied, at first, Art and Decoration. A few years later, in 1979, he entered the Faculty of Fine Arts in Madrid to study painting. I am attracted to textile art and I learn, in a self-taught way, to dye and weave wool, activities that I do compatible with my artistic studies. At the end of the 80s I integrated, for the first time, embroidery in one of my paintings and, since then and until now, I have continued to sew and mix fabrics, paint, transfers and thread in the different stages through which my work has passed.
