Abstract

Introduction: The analysis of the problems of mathematics of the competency tests to access to teaching staff of public secondary education is a subject of great interest for future teachers. This works’ goal is to describe and classify such problems.

Method: We conducted a content analysis of the infinitesimal Calculus problems proposed in Spain since 2006 up to 2018. We also develop a collecting instrument based on the analysis of mathematical tasks.

Results: The results show the characteristics of each of the autonomous communities and the existence of five types of problems, which are mainly characterized by their phenomenological aspect.

Conclusions: It is possible to establish a problem modal profile in Spain as one that is of differential calculus and that asks to know and use the definition, using polynomial functions, algebraic or exponential fractions, expressed in a verbal-symbolic way and using the implicit expressions.
