Abstract

In this paper we examine the need to promote entrepreneurial culture. In an uncertain scenario for the economy and employment, where it seems that constant economic growth cannot be assured, with high unemployment rates associated with high job instability, young people, as a group that are especially vulnerable when it comes to labour insertion, are the first to suffer the negative consequences of the lack of stable employment and uncertainty about the job market.

Given this outlook, it would seem reasonable to take steps to relieve problems derived from the lack of employment, particularly while the main sources of family and personal income continue to depend on salaried employment. Fostering entrepreneurial culture, based on ethical principles, by taking both formal and informal educational approaches and actions, is presented as a strategy for socio-educational intervention designed to limit the “damage” that the current growth model is causing both socially and environmentally.
