Abstract

In a sample of the main texts of biology or natural sciences produced in Chile, for the last level of secondary education, was analyzed the struggle between evolutionists and anti-evolutionists, authors’ ideology and their position about evolutionism, the importance attached to the subject of evolution and the contribution to the advancement of scientific knowledge. We compared different editions of the same textbook to analyze the main changes in topics and reviewed themes of the evolutionary biology in texts published after 1960, and revised text of each study in order to assess the veracity of his claims.
