Creative Reading and Writing Workshop Through the Mindfulness Technique in the Degree in Primary
Main Article Content
Abstract
In the present work we have tried to bring to the classroom of the Degree in Primary Education a teaching practice based on the mindfulness technique to encourage the reading habit and the creation of literary texts. We have used this technique of Buddhist origin because it focuses our mind on the feelings, sensations and the nature of things. The possibility that this practice offers to look inside stimulates creativity, essential in any creative process. We have also considered the multiple intelligences of Gardner that give a clear vision of the different skills that each individual possesses and uses both in problem solving and in creation.
This experience has been carried out in the Faculty of Education of the University of Malaga during the academic year 2017/18. 20 students from the 4th year of the Degree in Primary Education have participated in the workshop, aged between 21 and 45 years (Average: 24.35, D.E. 6,799). Men account for 55% of the sample and women, 45%.
This workshop for the promotion of creative reading and writing is a dynamic strategy that enables the implementation of playful-didactic activities with which students can have fun learning and stay motivated. The valuations expressed by the participants through a self-report instrument were very positive.
