Abstract

The Keter Malkut (Royal Crown) of Ibn Gabirol not only is a praise of God or a poem that presents the problem of the human predicament translated into Neoplatonic psychology; it is also an introduccion to Neoplatonic metaphysics and the Ptolemaic cosmology. The 2nd Section (centos X-XXV) is a description of the scheme of the creation, beginning with the sub-lunary sphere up to the Throne of God, proceeding through the other spheres. All of them have astrological propensities. The astrological propensities in the chapter are of interest, because Maimomides rejected these opinions, as we can see in some of his works such as the Moreh Nebukim.
