Abstract
Despite his open-minded attitude, Justin’s Dialogue with Trypho testifies that Christians and Jews have entered a new phase of mutual intolerance in the middle of the second century. What all of them seek is not coexistence, but conversion, that is to say, the extinction of their opponents. The wording and content of this work show, on the other hand, that the final result of this religious encounter is still unpredictable because both Christians and Jews must struggle to survive under the Roman persecution.
