Abstract

When medieval Hebrew narrative texts are analized and compared with the first narrative Works in the Spanish language, we can easily realize that there is a certain similarity both in the subjects as well as in the formal structure of these Works and, naturally, in their contents, mainly didactic in their character. The aim of this report is to show these similarities, especially regarding the selection of motifs, and to notice how certain topics, belonging to the purest and most ancient Jewish tradition, persist in the medieval Castillian collections.
