The present article includes the Spanish translation of the poem known as al-Burda’ (“the shawl”), written by the mystic poet Šaraf al-D?n al-B?.,s?r? (13th century). The Burda, a composition dedicated to Prophet Mu.,hammad, has a preeminent place in Arabic poetry because of its accurate style, and the great amount of biographical information on the Prophet’s life contained in its 160 verses. In the article, the translation is preceeded by a short study of its author’s life, the literary precedents of the main composition, its internal structure as well as other aspects.Downloads
