Toledo, Main mosque, 11th centuryAbstract
The excavations of the Cathedral of Toledo have showed the pre-existing structures situated under the building of the Gothic Cathedral built in the 13th century. The findings in the zone of the Cloister offer information about the Islamic period and the Friday Mosque: rests of the north wall of the room of prayer appeared under the Door of Santa Catalina and dated in the taifas period by the materials associated, and two cisterns placed under the south zone of the Cloister, their dating in the 11th century having been confirmed by the Arab graphites in their walls which are analyzed in this paper.Downloads
