Abstract

The aim of this paper is to improve the demographic growth of the Spanish emigration to Europe today. To do a comparative analysis of the facts and figures offered by the Spanish statistics (emigration) and recipient countries (immigration) for the period 2008-2013 is made. This allows us to observe the existence of significant differences between them in favor of recipient countries: two or three times (at least) to the Spanish as the concept of migration used for the statistical registration. These differences are mainly due to the existing registration young migrants (especially aged 20-29). The problems of underreporting in the Spanish statistics, as well as over-registration of the recipient countries, particularly affecting this group, are the main factors explaining them. The statistics of recipient countries developed following the concept of long-term migration, although not without limitations, provide insight nearest shape reality volume, evolution and population structure of the Spanish migratory flow towards Europe. A much higher flow undoubtedly encryption in the statistics of Spanish emigration, and made a much greater extent by young people.
