Abstract

The conductions or flotations of lumber that departed from the Sierras de Segura y Cazorla are documented for more of ten centuries. Until now most of studies about this theme are centred since the first third of XVIII century until the middle of XIX century, trying to emphasize the matters relating to the internal organization of conductions and the peculiar way of life of woodmen or log drivers that managed those ones, obviating other important aspects about the destination of transported pieces of wood or the firms and companies that participated in this business. It is only possible to answer to those subjects through alternative documents, very little used up to now, like the Official Bulletin of Jaén province.
