Bulgakovology in China: Translation, Research and Prospect

Abstract

Bulgakovology in China can be traced back to the early 1980s. Starting from the mid-1980s, almost all the masterpieces of Bulgakov have been translated into Chinese, some of which have been retranslated and republished for many times. In the development of Bulgakovology, generations of translators and researchers have made great contributions; whereas some Chinese writers have also greatly facilitated the publicizing of Bulgakov among mass Chinese readers. In the next phase of the development of Bulgakovology in China, it is impending to publish a comprehensive collection of Bulgakov, translate and publish the important works of Bulgakovologists in Russia and other countries, study the works of Bulgakov from the perspective of comparative literature and organize the academic and cultural activities connected with the anniversaries of Bulgakov.
