Abstract

This paper shows a series of characteristics focused on understanding Chagall’s art in relation with the Byzantine artistic tradition of the icon. From features as figurative forms or the use of colour, it will be established a link between the byzantine tradition, the suprematist aesthetics, and Marc Chagall’s work.
