Abstract

Litigation over the ownership of the Acequia de los Hechos between Nigüelas and Dúrcal in 1750 means the end point of a long judicial process remained between the two places on sharing water of said irrigation ditch. From the 1739 issue, the place of Nigüelas considered that Dúrcal was about water rights that were based on the contribution of water from the Río de Dúrcal to the Río Torrente by the Acequia de los Hechos or Alfaguara. Whenever Dúrcal ignores the maintenance of the irrigation ditch and it leaves to bring water, Nigüelas requests to be denied the right to Dúrcal irrigation until put the irrigation ditch into use.
