Abstract

The article analizes some of the major interpretive frameworks adopted by historical research on women and sexual offenses, highlighting its current relevance. Then, it reviews the Mexicanist historiography and warns how the Colonial Era and the Porfiriato have been, so far, privileged time frames in most contributions.
