Abstract

A period of castilian expansion through the north of Africa was opened after the conquering of the muslim Kindom of Granada. A special priviledge (“Privilegio de homicianos”) was given to the town because of the needs to defend the frontier prisión of Mazalquivir. This privilage was unknown till nowadays.

The military service would free the deliquents of punishment thanks to the aforementioned priviledge. The rule was certainly inspired in a medieval one. Arbitrarity between the chronological limits between the medieval age and the modern one are underlined by examples like this one.
