Abstract

Juan Martínez Ruiz makes a deep study o f the progressive development in the studies concerning the Hispano-Arabic aljamiada literature, developed in Castilla and Aragon as a result o f the loss of the Arabic language, both its classical form and the spoken dialect. In Granada and Valencia, where the Arabic language was kept, we find no traces o f the aljamiado since, as professor Martinez Ruiz points out, the last evidence, the “mal llamada carta aljamiada granadina” (the wrongly called aljamiada letter from Granada), has been completeley invalidated.

The conservation of the Hispano-Arabic language and the Arabic-Muslim body in the Moorish Granada, are well documented.
