Abstract

The compulsory Christianization of the Moslems in the Kingdom of Granada is a subject of historical research still unfinished. In this paper we analyse the conversion to Christianism of the “mudéjares” in Málaga and its territory and the different ways they respond to this challenge. We point out the chronology of the main events, we name the strongholds where the Moslems who chose the way of revolt, sought refuge, and we offer new facts about the defeat suffered by don Alonso de Aguilar in Rio Verde. Finally, we analyse all these events from the Muslim point of view.
