Abstract

We describe the decline in trade flows along official routes and the evaluation of the growth of self-sufficient economies that ocurred in diverse Latin American regions during the seventeenth century. We also describe the changes in the organization of production that took place in order to study wether the logic of american domestic production was modified in terms of trade with non-Hispanic European countries trough illegal routes.
