Abstract

Inside the reforms of the Spanish Enlightenment from american territories there was an attempt of founding in Spain a educational centre destinated to educate the sons of the most prestigious american families. The objective for these young people was living and forming in the metropolitan way in order to pay attention to the Spanish things and later to carry them to theirs places of procedence at the time oh their return. The chosed place was Granada. In this city a building was designed, the functioning rules were redacted, a programme of studies was invented and some teachers were designed. Among the american nobility proposed, the Dominican Juan Clemente Martinez Saviñón is reckoned.
