Abstract

In this work I have analizated the Levant's trade by the study of Italian inmigration and of others emigrant groups in Alicante and Carthagena through family connections which gave rise to the setting-up of merchant groups in either city, as well as thouse unconnected group such as the Genovese, the French or those from Toledo.

As well as some caracteristic activities of some members of these groups have been analizated, such as wool exports, production of soap and importation manufactures. Also the provision by the Kingdom of Granada of basic materials for such activities has been clarifity, such as oil for the soap factories, or the cleaning process wool in Ruescar (Granada) for exportation, at a time of the extension of family networks as far Granada, including Cadiz.
