Abstract

This article studies the building up of a different fiscal system for the Morisco population in the Kingdom of Granada at the beginning of the XVlth century. I point out the role of Morisco oligarchies in the collection of servicios extraordinarios de los moricos (general income taxes) from 1517 to 1523. Moreover the article compares the Morisco geography in the Kingdom through the servicio of 1504 and the servicios above said.
