Abstract

The study reflects on the relationship between mysticism and politics through the discourse of a series of contemporary women thinkers who committed their lives to the cause of the oppressed and of the victims. Dorothy Day, Etty Hillesum, Maria Skobtsov, Edith Stein, Simone Weil and María Zambrano, with their humanizing writing that resisted oppression, provide us a message from which it is possible to build a compassionate and poetical thought to enlighten a disappointed world.
