Abstract

This paper tries to show the beginnings of the legal philosophy of Alasdair MacIntyre before the publication of After Virtue. MacIntyre claims in liberal societies regulation is a substitute for morality when societies do not have adequate moral resources. In order to  understand  this  conclusion, the MacIntyre’s philosophical evolution of is examined from 1960 to 1980.
