Abstract

This paper analyzes  the intersection  between  law and medicine  that develops  in the normalizing devices to transsexuality. Therefore, it thoroughly examines the jurisprudential discourse  and the Act 3/2007.  From this analysis,  we understand  that the Diagnostic  and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), used in medicine and assumed by the law as  a requirement  for the registration  of the sex change,  has the force of law, performing the functions of the ancient bestiaries and immunizing  the sexual binary.
