Children and adolescents’ rights: towards a legal system

The objective of this article is to show the current claims presented globally in the development of children human rights, from the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and their incorporation into domestic legislation, especially at state and regional law. Given the regulatory updating, through recent reforms of the Spanish and Catalan legislation, it points to a gradual trend of setting up an autonomous legal discipline, which takes into account the role of children and adolescents in building and strengthening their rights, in their def inition and exercise for their true owners, according to its progressive capacity. From the def inition of the issues now require more and better intervention, also it aims to promote networks of study and research on children and adolescents’ rights, from the idea of social utility for progress towards the full realization and respect for the individual rights of children and adolescents.
