The interpretation that the Supreme Court of the Unites States has made throughout its history of the First Amendment of the Constitution has developed not only the Court vision of the freedom of expression but also the reality of American society itself. In this article the author present the evolution of the protection offered by the First Amendment to hate speech at different times in order to know its judicial evolution to the present day.
