Abstract
Introduction: The main objective of this research paper is to identify the predominant leadership style of the principals of the San Raymundo Educational Centres (Guatemala) from the perception of the teaching staff and the directive teams.
Method: To carry out this study, the case study methodology has been applied, because it focuses on a particular case. It was followed the methodological proposal of Soto and Escribano (2019). The validated leadership scale Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire MLQ-5X was used to determine the perception of teachers and principals on the type of leadership.

Meanwhile, passive leadership is the least represented in their schools. Furthermore, a disparity in perception was observed between the teaching staff and the management teams. Professors express a less optimistic view of reality than principals, who rated their own performance more positively.
