Abstract

This study argues for the need to provide reliable theoretic foundations in relation to the educational interventions on the teachings of an oral language. Thus, the elements in the theory of speaking by E. Coseriu, among other interesting considerations, have been chosen as a didactic model for the development of the oral discursive competence in Primary Education. The bases of this proposal rely on a functional, pragmatic and discursive consideration of language. In addition to this theoretic frame, some concrete guidelines are offered in order to implement educational programmes of teaching and learning an oral language as well as to evaluate the oral discursive competence.
