Training in the Listening Subcompetence of Future Teachers of ELE in Ukrainian Language Universities

Abstract
This paper describes and analyzes the problems of training in the listening subcompetence of future teachers of ELE in Ukrainian language universities, for which these problems have been examined from several points of view. At first it explains why auditory subcompetence is considered as a current and important skill in the training of future teachers. Secondly, a suitable definition is presented for the concept of professional competence, while specifying the qualities to be met by the future teacher, in our case, the foreign language and the fundamental competences to be taught in the Spanish practices. It also clarifies what are the main objectives of auditory subcompetence in the training of teachers of ELE, specifically we stick to second-year students. Finally, we emphasize the need to complete the training of these ELE teachers in the listening subcompetence through the work with audiovisual materials.
