Abstract

The importance of educational facilities from the architectural point of view are not limited to vital questions of habitability required as a physical container of activities. The good service they provide to the educational process has also to do with the educational potential conferred upon them. The transformations of architectural programs in educational institutions to absorb the continuous curriculum changes that educational policies provide make of the architectural evaluation a necessity of first order as a guarantee of their pertinence. This work contains the procedure followed for the architectural evaluation of a specific Vocational Training centre: approach and methodological strategy, instruments used for data collection and treatment of the information gathered, to make decisions about how to ignite the potential of the arranged workspacewith a view to their optimization. Evaluation indicators resulting from the previous process constitute a reference framework for the design of instruments that speed up the task of evaluation of any Center similar to the case of study.
