Influence of Educational Skills of Students in Choosing a University Degree

Abstract
The socio-educational orientation and choice of university degree is a key issue for both the students and the educational institutions of higher education, adding to this situation the importance of personal and academic skills of students in the election process. The aim of this study is to determine the school’s skills and qualifications preferred choice with or without any limitations by students in their final year of university and training in the province of Granada, and to assess the relationship between the two variables. The sample consists of 1,164 students from Granada (Spain), with an average age of 18.24 years. Design descriptive cross-sectional quantitative nature, in which a relational study was conducted to analyze the degree of dependence between variables under study was used. The main results of this study is drawn that the three defendants university degrees are not limited to: Magisterium, Medicine and Engineering; in the case of finding some conditioning the three most valued are: Teaching, Engineering and Nursing; most students Granada Capital have an aptitude for attention and self-rated memory; detected in verbal skills is where fewer qualifications and areas are located (INEF and Informatics), as to the number logical skills exclusive materials of mathematical and numerical calculations such as (Physical and Engineering degrees and areas of economy are implicit and businesses) and other qualifications and areas dominated by attention and memory.
