Abstract

The metropolitan urban areas of the capitals Andalusian constitute, along with the coastal areas, the most dynamic spaces of the Independent Community of Andalusia, where great part of the population and the economic activities is concentrated. They are spaces with a great functional complexity that have required a special attention of the administration as far as the planning of infrastructures and the uses of the ground, as they prove the Plans of Arrangement of the formulated Territory of Subregional Scope on these spaces throughout the decade of the Nineties. This paper compare the demographic data corresponding to the recent evolution of the municipalities of the metropolitan urban area of Granada with the forecasts that the Plan of Arrangement of the Territory for this scope established, with the intention of stating the degree of adjustment of the planning to the last detected demographic tendencies. The use of the territorial model anticipated by the Territorial Planning is analyzed of this form.
