Abstract

This work is part of the progress that has been made in an investigation that was initiated in 2005 (which continues to date) in a poor neighborhood in a city in northern Argentina, whose fieldwork was extended during the 2007. This instance is to show how the incorporation of social variables such as the concept of vulnerability and, more specifically one of its components, resilience, can approach the strategies and resources that implement the urban poor families to face and overcome the risks that may involve housing for its health. It presents the work done with 4 (four) cases. The research methodology is qualitative and the method used was Biographical Case Study. Among the main findings, one can conclude that the adversity in the home depends on the vulnerability of its inhabitants; that assets resources are dynamic; and that each case had its own process of resilience, which was useful in dealing with post.
