Abstract
This paper presents the methodological process for the design of regional development typologies in the frame of the EDORA project (European Development Opportunities for Rural Areas). These typologies constitute an important reference in the process of refreshing the stereotypes which underlie design and implementation of regional policy, and can become a valid tool for supporting decision-making better adapted to the regional reality of Europe.
