Abstract

Andalucía has two hydrographical versants with different annual rainfalls: the Guadalquivir area presents a normal rate, whereas the South pluviometric region a poor one. This annual variability is the most outstanding peculiarity, and at the same time a common characteristic to the South Iberian Peninsula. There exits very far awai extremes and a high frecuency of rainfall rates bellow the average. These rates, in particular, cause not only thre temporary regulation or the basin, but also the spatial or between basins. The difficulties, that both solutions raise to fulfil the water requirements, force to plan the water consumption by means of a previous study of the water necessities.
