Abstract

Adventure and active tourism has ben developed widely in Spain throughout the last fifteen years. Adventure sports have become a renewal feature within the tourist offer in many travel resorts and even hace meant the origin of new specialised leisure resorts which have arisen around these activities. This has given place to important changes (new activities, changes in the labour market, increase in the amount of tourist, modification in the land uses, building of new facilities and equipments), specially significant in interior areas and generally with a great lack of planning. The present paper identifies the main research lines in this field, it deepens into the available data sources and analices the localised introduction of specialised local companies, identifying the main location patterns.
