Abstract
This paper analyses the recent demographic evolution of Galicia, resolving the problems of the last census, that concerns the methodologic changes and a new date of realisation. The demographic regression, the increase of the irregular spatial distribution of population, the ageing of the demographic structure, the negative natural increase and the new streams in the migration are characteristics that determine the demographic situation of actual Galicia and they predict a complicated future in accordance with the demographic projections.
