Abstract

Return and foreign migration are becoming very important at the moment in Aragón. Nevertheless, we must point out the null attention that the academics have dedicated to analyse this type of movement of population. In this article it is carry out a quantitative approach to the phenomenon of the return population in this region, although only considering some aspects like the present volume and its importance related to the total number of immigrants; it is also analysed the temporary evolution of returned, its places of origin and destination, and their territorial distribution according to the demographic size of the destination municipalities. One of the great problems for the study of return migration are the Sources. Due to this, and before carrying out the analyse, we will emphasize the limitations for the use of the main official statistical source for the study of the population in Spain (the Census of the Population), and the convenience of the use of the Statistic of Variaciones Residenciales (EVR); for the study of return migration, the EVR provides information of much more value that the Census.
