Abstract

The agrarian income, estimated as direct gross margin of the farms, is not distributedproportionally in the territory. Horticulture is the most important subsector in the Andalusianagrarian economy. This paper aims to be focused on the differences observed in the spatialincome distributions of different horticultural productive strategies (based on total cultivationcosts and employment level of the farms). The financial structure of surveyed farms was geographically located considering a municipalprecision. The spatial analysis of these data (density analysis) allowed us to determine thegeographic distribution of gross margin of every productive strategy. Resulting maps show us that both the gross margin and employment level have very different spatial distributions. Thismethodology can be very useful to know where the financial and social sustainable farm typesare located for designing for example agrarian policies.
