Abstract

The immigration of agricultural workers of Bolivian origin towards Lules has passed of being a temporary immigration inscribed in circuits that were leading them to being employed at different provinces of Argentina, to a permanent one, tied to the horticulture. This change has been possible due to the conditions the horticulture in Lules was challenging during the eighties, and in this process, a handful of former agrarian workers has become lessers, and even owners. But the presence of Bolivian horticulturists does not limit itself to Lules: since the decade of the nineties they are producing vegetables in Vipos, in northern Tucuman, reproducing the productive strategies before put in practice in Lules. The analysis of these Bolivians’ migratory currents towards Lules, and the stage of their insertion in the productive structure of the department in the middle of the 90’s, are the aim of the present research.
